2011. One in the Middle brings together images built around a force placed at their centre — presences that seem inescapable and shape what we see simply by occupying that position. Their composition makes them unmistakably visible; yet their nature remains uncertain. They assert themselves while slipping away, holding the image together and unsettling it at the same time. This tension forms the core of the project: a play between what appears undeniable and what, when looked at again, becomes open, restless, difficult to pin down. It is within that ambiguity — in what insists and simultaneously resists being named — that the images find their meaning.
