Rojo Sache is the artistic duo formed by Rosa Isabel Vázquez and Jose Antonio Fernández, based in Spain. Their work unfolds in a territory where the image becomes a space of doubt, interpretation and deviation. They are drawn to memory —its gaps, distortions and persistences—, to ambiguity as a condition of the visible and, in some projects, to the presence of death.
In recent years, their practice has expanded into a dialogue between the human and the technological, incorporating artificial intelligence to question how images, evidence and the very idea of truth are constructed today. Their works explore the friction between what photography appears to assert and what it actually suggests, concealing, multiplying or diverting meanings.
Their projects range from conceptual series that stretch the boundary between the visible and the imagined to photobooks that investigate the possibilities of narrative construction. Exhibited and recognised internationally, their work evolves with a critical intention: to interrogate not only what we see, but the silent structures that allow something to be seen at all.
